TRABAC (Training Responsible Adults to be Bookkeeping and Accounting Clerks)
The courses apply the theory and practice of double-entry bookkeeping, use of journals and ledgers, preparation of basic payroll records, worksheet statements, bank statement reconciliations, adjusting and closing entries and development.
TRABAC PLUS (Contextualized Training for Responsible Adults to be Bookkeeping and Accounting Clerks)
Enhanced TRABAC incorporates remediation and/or English as a Second Language (ESL) as needed for each individual student. The courses apply the theory and practice of double-entry bookkeeping, use of journals and ledgers, preparation of basic payroll records, worksheet statements, bank statement reconciliations, adjusting and closing entries and development.
TRAMA (Training Responsible Adults as Medical Assistants)
Medical terminology, medical 3rd party billing and coding, medical office skills, clinical office techniques, software specific to medical field, internship.
TRAMA PLUS (Contextualized Training for Responsible Adults as Medical Assistants)
Enhanced TRABAC incorporates remediation and/or English as a Second Language (ESL) as needed for each individual student. Core training includes medical terminology, medical 3rd party billing and coding, medical office skills, clinical office techniques, software specific to medical field, internship. SHSAC (Social and Human Service Assistant Certificate)
The Social and Human Service Assistant Certificate Program (formerly Case Management) at the Rhode Island College School of Social Work prepares students for entry level case management practice by providing knowledge-based and value-informed education concerned with improving social conditions as well as individual well-being of people. ESL English as a Second Language
CAELL (Computer Assisted English Language Learning)
Beginner, intermediate and advanced classes available. Instruction in improving English listening, speaking, reading, writing and pronunciation skills using classroom instruction coupled with multimedia technology. Day and evening classes are offered.
GRAPHIC (Giving Refugees a Promising Headstart in Computers)
Newly arrived refugees receive English as a Second Language instruction and computer literacy skills.
Support Services
In addition, we offer support services, such as workplace English to employers/employees, attitudinal counseling, employment skills, job development and placement services. We also provide workplace and on-site services to employers and employees by providing skill training that fits the needs of employers. We serve the unemployed, underemployed, dislocated workers, some of whom are limited-English and need assistance in language and work skills, training, and placement. We serve Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts.

Who Needs These Programs?
- Unemployed, Underemployed and Dislocated Workers - some of whom are limited-English and need assistance in training, language and work skills assessment and placement.
- Employers who wish to take advantage of the high level skills brought to this country by people of other cultures and retrained workers.
- Service Providers who do not have the facilities to train and assess their clientele.
- Educational Institutions who wish to enroll and/or certify limited-English adults for academic programs or degrees.
